Topic: cleaning out my folders

Is there a way of cleaning out duplicate songs from a folder without doing it one at a time. More like a
right click remove duplicate?

There is a round-a-bout way.

Add the folder contents to Automix, in Automix there is a dot menu top right, click it and there is a selection to remove duplicates. The number of files in Automix is shown at the top, compare it to the number of files in the folder you started with at the top of the browser.

Delete the contents of the folder you started with, then save the Automix results to that same folder. Job done.😊

Another solution if one is using VDJ 2024 (builds 8093+), is to R-click the folder and select "No Duplicates" from the menu.

The duplicates will be removed from that folder.. (showing no duplicates after navigating away and back again, updating the folder list)

And if one wishes to once again allow duplicates, uncheck the "No Duplicates" from the R-click menu of that folder.

Also maybe of interest is Option: disableDuplicateForNewLists
to set all new folders to "No Duplicates"

Is there way to merge history metadata of duplicate tracks? ( Obviously actions saved cues have to be done manually)

if you just mean play count, I think that can be done.

My question is how do you know if they are duplicates or just different versions/remixes - something to think about
