it's time to get a new controller, I only use VDJ, I'm not interested in other software, I'm considering these two controllers:
Pioneer ddj 800 (used)
Definitely a more professional upgrade compared to my flx4 but nothing more, I think I would do the same things I do with the flx4 with a more professional controller.
Rane One (new)
Motorized jog, here the game becomes interesting and compared to the flx4 there is not only a professional upgrade but also the way of working becomes a new adventure
Do these controllers work well with VDJ?
Do I have any alternatives? ddj 1000, flx10. etc etc
Thanks

Really depends on your budget and your workflow.
If you want to use stems in VDJ then the FLX10 is great.

I'm a studio DJ just for fun, I don't do live events.
I also use stems with the flx4, my 3070ti handles them well, what does the flx10 have more than dedicated buttons?
I'm attracted to motorized jogs but I'm scared to leave Pioneer

DDJ-800 is a shrinked down version of DDJ-1000
So, between DDJ-800 and DDJ-1000 it's only a matter of size and available mixer channels (2 vs 4)
DDJ-800 and Rane One are 2 channel controllers.
DDJ-1000, Rane Four, DDJ-FLX10, and the new Rane Performer are 4 channel controllers.
DDJ-1000 is effectively a retired model now. So, better to go with FLX10 instead.
Between Rane Four and Performer, the only real difference are the motorized decks.
Also, while all controllers can work with Stems, FLX10, Four, and Performer offer more stem related functionality "out of the box" compared to other controllers.
Finally, ALL the above controllers are considered "top level" controllers.

Then perhaps DDJ-REV7 is for you..

I'm looking at the prices and models you recommend, I'm currently interested in the Rane One, ok it's not a Pioneer but it costs about 500 euros less than the Rev7. My feeling is that any controller I bought that wasn't motorized wouldn't give me any new emotions, I've never used vinyl, my idea of a motorized jog would bring me closer to that world, throwing the record, slowing it down, accelerating it manually and seeing the jogs spinning would give me something that the FLX4, DDJ800, FLX10...don't give me. Can anyone who has a motorized controller tell me something, thanks.

Unless you're a scratch DJ who needs the feel of motorized platters it's a waste of money.

OFFTOPIC
I'm not a scratch DJ (I hate scratching) but I really like the feel of motorized decks!
But also I'm a rare breed :P

Well George controllers are a very personal thing, there is no right or wrong.

Why tell him it's a waste of money then? If he wants to try motorized platters, the decision is his.

Do you just go looking through all the threads picking holes in comments for an argument? Sure seems so. I wont bother commenting any more. Not worth the hassle.

Who's arguing? George was the first to comment on your claim. Why didn't you moan at him?
I could say the same thing about you and your posts criticising Denon every time someone mentions them, or blaming Windows 11 when people have pops and clicks.
